Are you ready to step into a leadership role at the forefront of clinical research? Were currently hiring three Band 6 Specialist Technicians to join our growing Clinical Trials Pharmacy team. These posts are pivotal in ensuring patient safety, data integrity, and the smooth running of our expanding portfolio of trials across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
If you're a detail-oriented professional who thrives in an admin-heavy role but enjoys variety and clinical involvement this could be the post for you. We're looking for experienced pharmacy technicians with strong leadership and management skills who want to shape how clinical trials pharmacy services evolve. Experience in clinical trials would be an advantage however is not a requirement as all necessary training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
As a team player you'll work closely with your fellow band 6 colleagues to ensure consistency, innovation, and shared best practice across the three hospital sites.
The main duties in this role are to:
Lead and inspire: Manage either our busy dispensaries (LGI or St Jamess) or our admin and finance team, providing line management and support across three hospital sites.
Drive patient safety: Take the lead in processing trial amendments, ensuring procedures are updated to reflect protocol changes.
Keep trials running smoothly: Allocate work, oversee pharmacy set-up, and manage ongoing trial operations.
Champion compliance: Collect and report quality and performance data, ensuring trials meet the highest standards.
Collaborate widely: Liaise with external Sponsors, research nurses, research assistants, aseptics pharmacy, and the Research & Innovation team.
Support trials dispensary services: Contribute to accuracy checking of IMPs as part of regular service slots.
Be a people manager: Provide HR support, nurture your team, and ensure everyone feels valued and supported.

Key responsibilities:
Work independently under the guidance of SOPs, GMP, and COSHH regulations, while providing leadership and direction to staff within the department
