About the Practice/Department/Team



St Neots PCN is an average sized yet forward-thinking Primary Care Network (PCN) comprising of three practices within central St Neots and Great Staughton. We have built and developed a growing pharmacy team and recognise the value that these roles will bring to our practices and our patients, we now look forward to growing our PCN team. You will be joining an established, dynamic and varied team, whose aim is to provide exemplary patient care; finding innovative solutions in general practice to deliver the best care we can to our patients.

Job Introduction



Lakeside Healthcare is continuing to expand its team of Pharmacy Technicians across the organisation and its Primary Care Network member practices. We aim to build the largest Pharmacy Technician workforce in General Practice. We value the contribution that Pharmacy Technicians make within our multi-disciplinary teams, and we aim to continue to safely push the boundaries in-order to develop the Pharmacy Technician role.

What you will do (not exhaustive)



Your role will be to predominately support our Pharmacists with Medicines Reconciliation and Medication Reviews. This is an innovative role to work within the Lakeside Healthcare Pharmacy team to ensure safe and effective use of medicines for patients within Lakeside Healthcare. As a starting point the role will initially focus on medicines reconciliation from clinic and discharge letters, and will develop further as the role of the Pharmacy team expands within the organisation. It is vital that effective systems and procedures are in place to ensure that this process is effective, safe and efficient. The right candidate will be involved in day to day management of this with regular and thorough reviews of all medications. The process also ensures that patients receive the appropriate monitoring necessary for the medication they are prescribed.

If you are working across a Primary Care Network, you will be required to complete the 15 month CPPE Training pathway for Pharmacy Technicians. Please see the CPPE website for further information.

The ideal candidate will be a registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC, be flexible and friendly, and enjoy working as part of a busy team.
