We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP New Hall based in Wakefield.
HMP New Hall is a female adult and young offenders institution offering medium level of security with a population of 344 female
The Pharmacy team consists of one pharmacist, two dispensers and the rest are pharmacy technicians. We have in-house pharmacy located in the healthcare department and the pharmacy techs are working on wings too.
Hours

• The role is based on 30 hours per week
• Monday - Friday - 6.45am - 6pm
• Weekends - 6.45am - 5pm
• 4 week rolling rota
• 1 weekend in 4

Salary
This position is part time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 34,428 - 41,658 per annum FTE - depending on experience, this will be pro rota

What you'll be doing
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
• Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
• You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

• NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
• Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience

• Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

Prior to joining Practice Plus Group I spent almost 10 years working in community, but I have found that the prison environment is where I feel I can utilise my skills and truly make a difference. I see patients with complex health issues, I help keep them informed about their medication and support out-patients in managing their conditions day to day.
