We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and collecting specimens to be sent for testing. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to interact compassionately with patients. The Phlebotomist will ensure that all procedures are conducted in accordance with health and safety regulations while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Duties
Perform venipunctures to collect blood samples from patients.
Prepare and label specimens accurately.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all equipment is properly sterilised.
Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate any concerns.
Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately in the medical SystmOne.
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including infection control protocols.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Proficient in using phlebotomy equipment and understanding laboratory processes.
Previous experience in a clinical setting or relevant certification is preferred but not essential.
Compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
