Job Description
Key responsibilities:
Blood Collection: Perform venepuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood samples from patients, ensuring minimal discomfort and accurate sample collection. Patient Interaction: Establish rapport with patients, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensuring they feel comfortable during the blood draw. Sample Handling: Accurately label all collected samples with patient information, date and time of collection. Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols, including the use of PPE and proper disposal of biohazard waste.Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of blood collection procedures, including patient information and any complications that may arise during the process. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all necessary equipment is sterile and ready for use, check expiration dates. Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication. Skills & Qualifications: Proficiency in blood collection techniques, including venepuncture and capillary punctures.Excellent Communication Skills Strong organisational skills to ensure accurate labelling and documentation of samples. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and ensuring patient comfort during procedures. Understanding of healthcare regulations and safety protocols related to blood collection and handling.
