Background



This is a chance to be a school photographer and editor for a schools and pre-schools photography business.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our photographic team.

Whitehall Studios aims to produce the highest quality pre-school and school portraiture in the Northern Irish market. This will include an innovative approach to portrait styling while keeping pricing highly competitive for parents.

What We're After



We are seeking to appoint an experienced photographer ideally with between 2-5 years experience in the volume portrait photography market (schools, pre-school, cruises etc). The candidate must be a good people person with the ability to work well with all age groups but especially with young children. The candidate must have a good working knowledge of image editing software, including Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and be keen to maintain and develop our high level of quality and output, with great attention to detail.

The role by nature requires someone who can work to the high standards that our reputation requires, whilst being able to adapt quickly to requirements throughout the working day.

Applicants must be self-starters with the ability to work on their own for extended periods, have great ideas, a can-do attitude, work well under pressure and be able to grab this opportunity, which includes managing large volumes of images from daily photoshoots.

Scope of role



You will be the gatekeeper and in charge of quality control for our content.

Your role will be wide ranging covering setting up photoshoots, photographing large numbers of children, editing and image selection of both photos that you take plus photos taken by other in-house photographers.

You will use your skills to maintain the quality and consistency of our output, making sure all our photographers' work is in keeping with our standards - offering feedback and system improvements where necessary.

You will be selecting, editing and optimising photos for online publishing and printing

You will also assisting with our sales and marketing, to help drive growth in our client base

You will be given opportunities for training and honing your skills

You will assist in shoots in a range of settings.

You will manage and administer all aspects of our photoshoots from bookings through to final delivery of digtal and print sales.

You are required to have a full clean driving license as some work may involve visiting client (or prospective client) sites.

Key Experience and Skills Required



Strong evidence of your ability to work with younger children. This may include a variety of roles (e.g work in a nursery or school, work as a children's entertainer etc)

At least 2 years experience of portrait photography including a good understanding of studio photography, how to set up a studio and use professional camera equipment. Strong preference will be for previous work as a school or pre-school photographer.

Advanced Adobe Suite skills to include Photoshop, and Lightroom.

At least 3 years experience using your design and photo editing experience.

Great organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

Team player; excellent at communicating effectively with clients and team members.

The ability to work well under pressure.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Highly motivated, hands on and with exceptional professional standards.

Self-starting

Clean driving license and ability to drive to client locations (travel costs to be re-imbursed)

Salary



23-27k, depending on experience; full time role. The primary job location is at our studio in East Belfast, but travel to client locations throughout the Greater Belfast area will be required

Hours and Location



9.00am - 5.30pm, Monday - Friday and occasionally weekend work.
