About the Role and Candidate




Sunderland College currently has successful Sports Academies in Basketball, Football, Netball and Rugby, and TASS athletes across several individual and team sports. We have a track record of regional and national success with some of our student athletes gaining international honours. You will work closely with our key partners, leading on physical performance support to student-athletes and working collaboratively with coaches and key staff to provide an outstanding student athlete experience.


You will fulfil a range of duties, including delivering screening tests, educating student athletes on physical performance and providing both individual, small group and team programmes to the highest of standards. The successful candidate will be passionate and driven about making a positive difference to our Sports Academies and be an integral part of our team ambitions.


The role is based at our Bede Campus, home to exceptional, industry-standard performance facilities. You'll have access to a fully equipped sports science lab, dedicated athletic performance gym, high-quality 3G and grass pitches and a versatile sports hall, providing the perfect environment for delivering high quality athlete development.


Applicants for this post should have appropriate qualifications and experience. Within the application, practical examples of how you fulfil the person specification and examples of your performance coaching practice should be included.

Essential Skills and Experience



Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification or equivalent UKCSA (or working towards) Track record of designing and delivering excellent physical performance programmes Minimum of 2 years experience of working with young people and elite athletes
