This is a unique opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to establish and lead a new clinical therapies service at Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. The post carries responsibility for the planning, delivery and evaluation of a high-quality clinical therapy offer to meet the complex physical and therapeutic needs of babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
The role sits within a multidisciplinary care team with a holistic model of care, giving significant scope to shape the direction and development of the service in collaboration with other clinical, therapy, education and volunteer teams.
Core responsibilities include conducting physiotherapy assessments and interventions for children who require physiotherapy input, working in close partnership with families and local statutory services. This includes maintaining and reviewing individual risk assessments and therapy plans, and support at end of life as required.
A key focus of the role is the operational and clinical oversight of hydrotherapy provision, including individual risk assessments, delivery of specialist hydrotherapy sessions for children with complex needs and ensuring the safe, effective running of the hydrotherapy pool. This includes overseeing processes for use of the pool by families, in line with agreed protocols.
The role also involves training, service development, and partnership working--both locally and nationally--to promote best practice. Weekend flexibility is required to extend hydrotherapy access for families.
