17.13 per hour (exc WTD)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative physiotherapist to join the physiotherapy team within the acute medical team at South Tyneside and Sunderland Hospitals. The post holder will work alongside members of the multidisciplinary team delivering physiotherapy to effectively treat a variety of different conditions and pathologies on the inpatient wards, facilitate hospital discharge and provide rehabilitation towards patient centred goals.
Role Details:
To work as an autonomous practitioner using clinical reasoning skills to provide physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to an independently managed caseload.
To participate in physiotherapy in-service training programmes and external postgraduate training as appropriate.
To deliver a quality service and become involved with service improvement initiatives as required.
Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack the capacity to consent to treatment.
Support patient self-management and secondary prevention.
Communicate with clients and their carers information regarding diagnosis, treatment plans and expected goals.
Management of own caseload and also expected to accept responsibility for the day-to-day running of the clinics in which you work.
Demonstrate understanding and knowledge in the management of a caseload with a high proportion of increased risk patients and be able to demonstrate referral pathways.
The Successful Candidate Will:
Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
Be HCPC registered.
Be able to present information, written and orally in a clear and logical manner
Basic numeracy and literacy skills to level 1 or equivalent
Comprehensive experience at undergraduate level including Respiratory, Neurology and Musculoskeletal
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of
Relevant Qualifications
Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
