Physiotherapy Assistant
to join our supportive and forward-thinking physiotherapy team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical skills in a modern hospital setting while playing a key role in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
What you'll be doing
In this hands-on role, you'll work under the guidance of registered physiotherapists to support patients on their rehabilitation journeys. Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering individual and group-based therapeutic exercise programmes.
Assisting in the assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients' progress.
Carrying out manual therapy techniques (e.g., massage, passive stretches) after appropriate training.
Performing clinical measurements and accurately recording outcomes.
Providing support in pre-assessment clinics and contributing to discharge planning.
Liaising with external providers to organise the delivery and safe installation of rehabilitation equipment.
Supporting patients and families with advice and clear information about post-operative rehabilitation.
Maintaining accurate documentation and upholding confidentiality in all aspects of patient care.
Supporting the department through clerical duties, stock checks, ordering, and equipment maintenance.
What we'll look for in you
With your experience in working independently with patients in an acute healthcare setting, you will also have:
NVQ Level 3 qualification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence in following care protocols and adapting treatment plans
Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise your workload
A caring, respectful approach and commitment to patient dignity and safety
Basic computer skills and familiarity with clinical documentation
Knowledge of physiotherapy interventions - desirable
Administrative or stock management experience - desirable
Experience working in extended scope competency roles - desirable
