Job Description

Piano Teacher required for one or more evenings and/or Saturdays (Mondays 4-7pm/Tuesdays 4-7pm/ Wednesdays 5-7pm/Saturdays 10am to 4.15pm)

We are looking for a replacement piano teacher from mid November, who is friendly and welcoming, to teach piano to children from the age of 6 upwards (and adults potentially) in small groups of up to 6 students at a time (55 minute lessons). We use digital pianos and headphones. There is scope to increase working hours, if desired.

It is essential that the teacher currently already lives locally (max 45 minutes' travel to BR1 4PL), and has, or be willing to get, a DBS check prior to joining our school. (The travelling distance could include the boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham, Greenwich and Bexley, etc.)

We require a friendly, caring individual(s) to join our team of dedicated teachers. You must be well organised, good at record keeping, have a thorough knowledge of piano playing and exam preparation from beginner to Grade 8 level, as well as being a good communicator; someone who can inspire our students to achieve their full potential musically.

Above all, we value kindness and the understanding that students are mostly playing for a hobby and want to enjoy their lessons. A tertiary level qualification (degree in music or licentiate) is required. Mature teachers are welcome to apply. We welcome persons from every background who have a right to work in the UK. We have a staircase to the classrooms.

You will be working on a self-employed basis, with commission paid monthly. We are open approximately 45-46 weeks per year. Many of our teachers have been working for Musicland Music Academy for more than 10 years. One of our teachers is leaving to pursue a different career, and you will be taking over established classes of students.
