Allen Farms (Coddington) Ltd is a reputable family-run business situated close to Newark in Nottinghamshire. The company is comprised of three main enterprises:
Pigs (850 sows, farrow to finish)
Sheep (550 mule ewes, lambing in February and March)
Arable (1200 acres cropping wheat, barley, beans and sugarbeet).
The company strives to be as self-sufficient as possible, with the core aim of becoming carbon neutral by 2030. To best achieve this, the farm has its own feed mill, allowing arable crops to be milled into feed for the livestock. The farm also has its own borehole providing its water supply, and solar panels providing much of its electricity.
The company always endeavours to improve, particularly with its award-winning Pig Unit. Recent accolades at the National Pig Awards include:
- 2022 - Young Producer of the Year
- 2023 - Herd Productivity of the Year award
- 2024 - Unit Manager of the Year
In 2025, the Unit has been asked to judge the awards.
Due to expansion within the Pig Unit, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Stockperson to join our Pig team. This role would ideally suit someone with previous experience in Agriculture looking for their next opportunity to progress in the sector.
A standard day would be 6:30am until 4:00pm Monday to Friday, working one weekend in three (reduced hours, typically 7:00am until 11:30am). There is ample opportunity for extra hours paid on an overtime rate should the applicant show an interest in doing so.
Agricultural/Livestock experience would be desirable but not a necessity as all training will be provided. Applicants will need to be hard-working and excellent communicators. They should be forward-thinking, organised, and efficient.
