We are seeking a passionate and dedicated self-employed Pilates Instructor to join our dynamic fitness team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Pilates and a comprehensive understanding of body mechanics, anatomy, and physiology. As a Pilates Instructor, you will lead engaging classes that promote physical fitness, flexibility, and overall well-being. Your expertise in program design and group fitness will help create an inclusive environment for participants of all skill levels.
ARC is a community racquet & fitness centre where everyone can exercise, socialise and learn together. The centre currently boasts over 1300 members regularly accessing our 10 tennis courts, 3 badminton courts, 2 table tennis tables and large functional fitness Gym. The final phase of the project is set for completion in 2025 and will include a multi-sports hall and community Cafe.
ARC Fitness is a multi-purpose, functional and spacious gym for people across North Devon who regularly participate in sport or are looking to improve their health and wellbeing through exercise and fitness. Successful candidates will have a passion for health and fitness and relate to the Centre's vision and mission statements. Industry experience is essential, and coaches must hold the necessary professional qualifications to coach the class and hold valid Public Liability insurance.
The coaching timetable includes the following classes - Functional Fitness, HIIT, Kids Fitness, Pilates, Inclusive Fitness, Health Class, Spin, Olympic Weightlifting and Functional Strength. Experience of coaching group classes in some of these areas, especially functional fitness is preferred but not essential. In addition to the class coaching role, there is a great opportunity for the successful candidate(s) to work with personal training clients through the gym.
Responsibilities
Conduct Pilates classes that cater to various skill levels, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
Demonstrate proper techniques and body mechanics to enhance participant understanding.
Provide modifications and progressions for exercises to accommodate different abilities.
Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages client engagement and motivation.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the studio space and equipment.
Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and best practices in Pilates and group fitness.
Experience
Proven experience as a Pilates Instructor or in a similar role within a health club or gym setting.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, and program design.
Experience in teaching group fitness classes; additional qualifications in yoga, or CrossFit are advantageous.
Background in personal training or sports coaching is preferred.
Familiarity with fitness sales strategies to help promote classes and programs effectively.
