We are looking to appoint a
Pioneer Mission Worker
to assist in the development of the expression of Church, involving working actively within the community, building positive relationships and promoting the wider Salvation Army. This role requires a sense of vision, purpose and a creative approach to build a church community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the church leader in developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating a holistic community programme, that reflects the needs, demographics, culture and diversity of the area.
Lead and facilitate people's Christian discipleship, worship, social action and mission as part of an expression of The Salvation Army including leading Christian prayers, Bible study, Mission and Christian mentoring.
Provide regular reports to the relevant leadership teams/manager with full analysis of progress against agreed objectives related to the development of the project.
Responsible for ensuring that the project complies with all relevant Salvation Army and statutory policies and procedures such as safeguarding, GDPR and health and safety.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
Commitment and practising Christian who has a calling and a desire to promote The Salvation Army's beliefs and values.
Significant experience of working in the voluntary sector to develop and manage successful local community programmes.
A good level of English - both spoken and written - and numeracy.
Sense of vision and creative approach to community work with the ability, personal drive and motivation to pioneer/develop expressions of church for all ages to serve the community.
This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
