Junior Pipeline Integrity Engineer -
Flexible (With Travel to NWE Terminal and Pipeline Network Locations)
About the role
The Pipeline Engineer provides expert advice and support to the Exolum North-West Europe (NWE) business in the areas of Pipeline Engineering and Integrity. The role is responsible for specifying high-pressure cross-country pipeline inspection, validation, and repair requirements, and supporting HSE compliance verification and reporting, in consultation with the Pipeline Manager. This includes analysis of inspection data to assess and report on pipeline fitness for service and regulatory compliance, as well as developing action plans for pipeline repairs, remediation, and protection, in accordance with Exolum policies and procedures.
The role supports the Operations, Maintenance, Project Delivery, Commercial and Legal teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and legislation, and compliance with Exolum standards and procedures for pipeline operation and integrity.
The Pipeline Engineer develops, maintains and reports key performance indicators related to the integrity of all Exolum NWE cross country pipeline assets, including responsibility for the control and maintenance of integrity files and records pertaining to the assets.
Key Responsibilities
To deputise for the RMM or IMM West/East Supervisor if required.
Analysing, reporting and presenting technical information relating to pipeline design, operation, and integrity.
Guiding and reporting on compliance with pipeline integrity and safety legislation, codes, and standards
Continual development of in-house integrity management capability
Writing, checking, updating, and maintaining Exolum Standards, Procedures, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments related to pipeline design, construction, engineering and integrity
Supporting the management and delivery of pipeline In-Line Inspection (ILI) programmes, analysing findings, and developing and tracking repair and remediation action plans.
Specifying and coordinating integrity related project works
Supporting process and functional safety assessments, and providing expertise in pipeline process trouble shooting
Assessing pipeline fitness for purpose, remaining life, and defect and failure analysis in accordance with industry-recognised codes and standards
Consulting and supporting on pipeline emergency preparedness, emergency response, and incident investigations
Input into CAPEX and OPEX annual and 5-year plans
Liaising with CP Technical Authority to coordinate pipeline integrity monitoring and management
Undertaking audits/ reviews and delivering training & coaching.
About You
The successful candidate will possess a Mechanical or Materials Engineering degree (or equivalent), experience working in a similar role within the oil and gas pipelines industry, and expertise in liquid and gas pressure systems integrity management and fitness-for-service assessment. They should also have experience working on COMAH/Major Accident Hazard plants and facilities, and demonstrate familiarity with UK Pipeline Safety Regulations (PSR 1996), Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR 2000), PD 8010, ASME B31.3, ASME B31G, and API 579-1/ASME FFS-1
