The Job Mission
This role is based in Bridgwater with a hybrid working arrangement. To be considered, you will need to live within a commutable distance, though relocation support is available for those moving closer to site.
As a Junior Piping Configuration Engineer, you will help maintain the accuracy and integrity of piping design data from conception through to erection. Your future team will rely on you to ensure seamless configuration management, stakeholder alignment, and clear documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Liaise with the Configuration Manager to ensure project-wide standards are met
Support Engineering Readiness and Maturity Reviews across design stages
Administer the configuration tool for managing metadata and design records
Track design package maturity and assist with structured handovers
Ensure design changes and open points are properly monitored and closed
Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Qualification
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in piping configuration, design, or modelling
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Familiarity with configuration tools in large infrastructure projects
Awareness of nuclear or other highly regulated industries
Understanding of engineering change management processes
Experience with PDMS/Aveva E3D software
