The Job Mission



This is a hands-on, site-integrated role supporting mechanical construction delivery at Hinkley Point C.

You'll lead the planning and coordination of mechanical piping works within a multi-contractor environment.

We welcome candidates from outside the nuclear sector--if you've worked on complex construction projects involving heavy plant, pressure systems, or large-scale utilities, you'll find your skills highly relevant here.


You'll typically work

three days per week onsite in Bridgwater

, but we need those with flexibility for

five days

as needed based on project requirements. If you're relocating, we offer a

relocation allowance

to help support your move.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Leading and guiding site teams to deliver mechanical installation safely and efficiently Defining work scopes and sequencing them for practical delivery on a live construction site Coordinating installation activities with designers, subcontractors, and technical leads Identifying and resolving engineering or construction challenges in real time Supporting improvements to build methodology, planning, and site access Upholding the highest standards in health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance Providing updates on progress, resource planning, and readiness to the site management team Acting as the key link between engineering intent and field execution

Qualifications



Essential Skills and Qualifications



Engineering degree or equivalent trade-based qualification Proven experience coordinating site-based mechanical or piping works CCNSG Safety Passport and IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH certification Minimum 5 years in construction or industrial environments Background in

oil & gas

,

steelworks

,

utilities

,

power stations

, or similar heavy industrial sectors Confident in managing scopes across large multi-disciplinary sites Familiar with pressure systems, valves, pipework supports, and heavy plant installation

Desired Skills



Understanding of CDM regulations in a construction environment Familiarity working within Joint Ventures or integrated contractor environments Strong leadership and progress reporting skills Comfortable resolving technical or scope issues on-site with multiple stakeholders
