Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Oversee meal preparation and ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary. Ensure all food safety standards are met, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients where possible.

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment. Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines. Prior kitchen experience is essential; restaurant experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and service. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff.
