Job Description

OTTO Pizza is looking for an experienced part time Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team.

We will only be considering chefs with prior pizza making experience.

Responsibilities:

All aspects of food preparation, from making dough to preparing vegetables and sauces

Maintaining high standards of hygiene at all times

Working on all sections during service

Cleaning and washing up

Experience:

1 year experience of pizza making or baking is a minimum requirement. Experience is particularly useful in relation to using a wood fired oven, shaping pizza etc

Kitchen experience essential

Hygiene level 2

Benefits/conditions:

18 hrs/wk, hourly rate + tronc (currently around 2.50 per hour)

Expected to work weekends and some bank holidays

5.6 weeks paid holiday pro rata

Free Staff food and drink on each shift

Staff discount of 50% on food when not on shift. This can be used for up to three friends who are dining with you

Duties:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes or customer preferences
- Plan menus and ensure food quality and presentation meets high standards
- Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with catering team to create customized menus for special events
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a pizza chef
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Creativity and passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Note: Experience in catering and willingness to help with various kitchen duties is preferred.
