Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate

Pizza Chef

to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pizza preparation, dough making and oven management, ensuring every pizza is cooked to perfection with authentic flavour and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a range of pizzas using fresh ingredients and traditional methods. Handmake pizza dough and sauces, ensuring consistency in quality and flavour. Operate and maintain pizza ovens (wood-fired, stone or electric, depending on the restaurant). Monitor cooking times and temperatures to achieve ideal texture and taste. Prepare and manage pizza toppings, maintaining portion control and freshness. Keep the pizza station clean, organised and fully stocked throughout service. Follow food hygiene and safety standards in line with UK regulations. Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods. Assist with menu development and suggest new pizza creations or seasonal specials. Maintain stock levels, report shortages and minimise food waste.

Requirements:

Previous experience (2+ years) as a Pizza Chef or similar role in a restaurant or pizzeria. Strong knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation and pizza-making techniques. Experience operating pizza ovens safely and efficiently. Excellent attention to detail and presentation. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen. Food hygiene certification (Level 2 or higher) preferred. Reliable, punctual and team-oriented.

Desirable Skills:

Experience with wood-fired or stone ovens. Knowledge of Italian ingredients and flavours. Basic understanding of kitchen stock management and costing.
