Carmela's is a brand-new East Coast-inspired pizzeria, bringing the bold, nostalgic flavours of Italian-American pizza culture to the heart of Islington. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pizza Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and culinary arts, with experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a pizza chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality dishes to our guests while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Duties

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace, including utensils and equipment. Assist in the management of kitchen inventory, including ordering and stock rotation. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Participate in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.

Qualifications

Experience with pizza is greatly preferred, but candidates with transferable skills will still be considered. Proven experience in food preparation within a culinary or restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative when required. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
Note: Service charge will be paid as well as the hourly rate

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 14.00-16.00 per hour
