The Role:

Placement Officers (Optional Placements) will work together in a Placements Operational Team, reporting to a Placement Manager (Optional Placements).

Within this team, each Placement Officer will have a caseload of students, and will ensure that they, and their placement providers, receive outstanding levels of support through the optional placement process. This includes; university-wide advertising of paid placement opportunities to students, ensuring that all paperwork required to approve an optional placement is received from students and placement providers and checked thoroughly, all attendance monitoring, welfare checks and visits are completed, UKVI compliance is addressed, and that issues from students and providers are dealt with promptly. The role holder will be responsible for escalating any issues to their manager or the Senior Placement Officer, as appropriate.

Hybrid and flexible working may be available for this role and can be discussed at interview. The team allow 1 day per week working from home depending on business need.

This is a fixed term contract to 14 August 2026, or the earlier return of the substantive postholder, to cover a period of maternity leave.
