Role Purpose:



The Planner will be responsible for developing and managing production schedules, optimising resource utilisation, and ensuring customer requirements for quality and delivery are met. This role involves coordinating workflows across production teams, managing raw materials, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, playing a crucial part in maintaining efficient manufacturing operations in line with lean principles and ERP system implementation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:



Develop and maintain detailed daily and weekly production plans to meet customer demand, target stock levels, and delivery deadlines. Prepare clear, accurate, and fit-for-purpose productionschedules and instructions for production teams. Manage and update the ordering and MRP systems to ensure smooth changeovers, efficient resource allocation, and optimal capacity utilisation. Coordinate with Team Leaders, Supervisors, and other internal functions to ensure production workflows are optimised. Monitor production progress, report on order completion, and communicate effectively with customers regarding order status. Review and verify purchase orders for raw materials, ensuring correct specifications, widths, tonnage, and delivery requirements. Plan workload to minimise waste, scrap, and downtime, aligning with lean manufacturing principles. Support the transition and implementation of ERP systems while managing both existing and new manufacturing plans. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimisation and workflow efficiencies. Assist with stock takes, data collection for KPIs, and project planning. Support NCR investigations and other quality assurance activities. Promote health, safety, and environmental best practices within the production environment. Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain Manager and other stakeholders to optimise procurement and logistics. Provide administrative support related to planning, including paperwork, reports, and documentation.

Candidate Requirements:



Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications. Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to changing operational needs. Experience in managing raw material procurement and stock management. Ability to support continuous improvement processes and work in a fast-paced environment.
