Job Description

Company Overview

Gallaway Construction is an award-winning, family-founded main contractor with a 23-year track record of delivering high-quality, socially impactful construction projects across the UK. Known for our integrity, innovation, and inclusive culture, we operate nationwide with specialist expertise across education, healthcare, heritage, infrastructure, residential, and commercial sectors.

We are proud pioneers in redefining construction culture--advocating for sustainability, equity, and community enrichment. Gallaway is not just a contractor; we are a changemaker in the built environment, investing in talent development, leading training initiatives like our Construction for Women programme, and delivering over 2 million in social value in 2025 alone.

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-driven Planner to join our team, working across a diverse portfolio of commercial, healthcare, education, heritage, refurbishment, and non-residential new build projects. This role plays a critical part in the success of both pre-construction and live projects by developing, managing, and maintaining robust construction programmes.

The Planner will take full ownership of programme delivery from tender through to completion, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones and stakeholder expectations. A key responsibility will be the monitoring, tracking, and reporting of all company projects, both upstream to clients and consultants, and downstream to subcontractors and supply chain partners--maintaining full accountability for programme performance across all levels.

Responsibilities

*

Produce fully logic-linked tender and construction programmes. Monitor progress rigorously against baseline schedules and issue early warnings where slippage is identified. Prepare and deliver detailed progress reports, look-aheads, and recovery plans to internal teams and external stakeholders. Actively seek and pursue programme mitigation strategies and opportunities for schedule improvements at all project stages. Support commercial teams in assessing programme-related risks, delay claims, and extension of time submissions. Champion a collaborative, solutions-focused planning culture, supporting the timely delivery of key information and fostering programme ownership across project teams.
