The Vacancy
We are always looking for exceptional individuals to join our multinational group of skilled professionals, and right now we are seeking to recruit 2x motivated and passionate Planner/Buyers.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the view of becoming permanent. The role follows a hybrid working approach, so some onsite attendance will be required.
In this role, you will be responsible for the procurement of specific material categories and managing vendor relationships. You will control planning parameters in SAP, determine batch sizes within inventory and transport guidelines, and ensure timely order placement and delivery performance. This role is critical to balancing inventory control with supply continuity to meet production and customer demands.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage all purchasing functions including stock control, supplier negotiation, and vendor performance.
Manage purchasing functions including order placement, stock control, and supplier negotiations to support production and business goals.
Collaborate with planning, production, and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability and efficient booking-in of goods.
Lead supplier performance management activities, including quality, delivery, and cost reviews.
Drive inventory reduction and process improvements through lean strategies like consignment, Kanban, and just-in-time.
Support new product introductions and supplier audits to ensure supply chain readiness and compliance.
Experience, Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing buying/planning role.
Proven ability to manage supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, and cost issues.
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (preferably SAP) and strong Excel proficiency.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Education to A Level, HNC, or equivalent; CIPS qualified or working toward it.
