The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Responsibilities

Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare precise cost estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather relevant pricing information. Assess material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs to develop comprehensive estimates. Monitor and control project costs throughout the bidding process to ensure competitiveness. Prepare detailed tender documents and present estimates to clients or internal stakeholders. Review and update cost databases regularly to reflect current market prices. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards. Maintain organised records of all estimates, assumptions, and related correspondence for future reference.

Qualifications

Proven experience in estimating within a relevant industry sector. Strong understanding of cost control principles and techniques. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and clients professionally. A recognised qualification in construction management, engineering, or related field is desirable but not essential.
