Our client, a multi-channel business, is looking for a
Planning & Inventory Manager
to take ownership of their finished goods planning and stock optimisation. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring product availability across the supply network, while optimising inventory and supporting business growth across the UK and international markets.
You'll be responsible for the
end-to-end S&OP process
, bringing together commercial, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting, smart inventory control, and smooth operational flow. This is not a manufacturing or raw materials role -- the focus is entirely on
finished goods
planning for wholesale distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
process across the business
Build and maintain finished goods demand forecasts across multiple SKUs and sales channels
Analyse stock levels, sales patterns, and supply data to optimise inventory holding
Ensure strong availability performance across all channels
Monitor key metrics including stock cover, availability, excess, and obsolescence
Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and logistics teams
Support seasonal planning, promotions, and NPD forecasting
Improve reporting tools and drive best practice in planning processes
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience in
finished goods planning, inventory, or demand forecasting
Strong background in
FMCG, or consumer goods
Demonstrable experience overseeing or driving an
S&OP process
Strong analytical and Excel skills (Power BI or SQL a bonus)
Proficient with ERP or planning systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Highly organised, with a proactive, collaborative mindset
