Are you an experienced and ambitious MRTPI qualified planner looking to make a significant impact? We have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Associate or Associate Director to join our growing Town Planning team in our modern Newcastle city centre office, boasting stunning Quayside views.


This is a chance to genuinely shape communities and contribute to crucial renewable energy initiatives. You'll be instrumental in promoting diverse developments, from large-scale residential and mixed-use schemes to vital wind and solar farms. You'll be working on a wide range of projects, cultivating both new and existing client relationships, and playing a key role in mentoring our junior team members.


What You'll Be Doing




Championing diverse developments through various consenting regimes. Driving residential, mixed-use, and employment projects (both brownfield and greenfield) from Local Plan promotion to preparing and submitting planning applications of all sizes. Conducting insightful research and site appraisals for our diverse client base. Managing appeals and potentially representing us at Informal Hearings. Building and nurturing strong client relationships. Boosting our team's profile and actively supporting business development across the Northeast and with national clients. Coordinating internal and external project teams, ensuring seamless project management and quality assurance.
To thrive in this role, you'll be:


MRTPI qualified with strong planning experience, ideally with a background in renewables or residential projects, preferably within a consultancy. An exceptional organiser with superb project management skills. Passionate about business growth, including client relationship management and expanding your professional network. A strong and clear communicator. Capable of working independently and managing complex projects. A personable individual and a strong team player. Flexible and willing to travel to project locations, client offices, and other Stantec offices across the UK when necessary. In possession of a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
