We are seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable Planning and Building Control Coordinator to oversee and manage the planning application and building control processes for a range of development projects. This role is essential in ensuring that all planning, regulatory, and compliance standards are met efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the preparation and submission of planning applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
Act as the primary point of contact between internal teams, local planning authorities, building control inspectors, and other stakeholders.
Monitor application progress, respond to planning queries, and manage conditions and obligations.
Support project managers and developers by providing expert guidance on planning procedures and building regulations.
Liaise with consultants, architects, engineers, and surveyors to ensure timely submission of accurate documentation.
Maintain up-to-date records and track the status of all applications and permissions.
Ensure developments meet health, safety, and accessibility standards as required by legislation.
Keep abreast of changes to planning legislation, policy updates, and best practices.
About You
Proven experience in a planning, building control, or regulatory compliance environment.
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and building control regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across teams and external bodies.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in using planning portals, document management systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
Relevant qualifications in Town Planning, Construction Management, Building Surveying, or a related field are desirable.
