We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Planning Consultant to join our rural planning team. I deally, the candidate will possess a background in development planning, with knowledge of rural enterprises, specifically farming, tourism, equestrian and renewable energy etc. This role involves collaborating with clients and stakeholders to develop comprehensive planning solutions that meet regulatory requirements quickly and effectively. A planning qualification is desirable, but not essential. A well organised and enthusiastic approach with an understanding of the issues facing rural based businesses is very important. Responsibilities
Proactively collaborate with clients to understand their planning needs and objectives.
Conduct planning policy analysis to inform recommendations and application documentation.
Prepare reports and documentation that clearly communicate project objectives and analysis against planning policies.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within established deadlines and respond to queries as they arise.
Engage with stakeholders, including clients, other consultees and local authorities throughout the planinng process.
Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather relevant data for planning purposes.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in all planning aspects.
Be commercially aware and generate fee revenue.
Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex information effectively.
Excellent report writing skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proven project management experience in a commercialyl orientated planning or related consultancy environment.
Ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
A degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
A proactive approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
