Service Care Legal are working on behalf of our client, a London-based Local Authority, we are seeking an experienced Planning Lawyer to join their Legal Services team on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled legal professional to take on high-profile and complex planning and highways work in a supportive, forward-thinking environment. ROLE: Senior Planning Lawyer LOCATION: North London CONTRACT: 3 months with possibility of extension RATE: 35-40ph LTD / 35.42ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / 31.60ph PAYE exc. holiday pay - DOE & interview performance Key Responsibilities: Manage a varied caseload of complex and high-profile planning and highway matters. Work independently on Section 106 agreements and other planning obligations. Provide expert legal advice on planning law to officers, members, and stakeholders. Draft, review, and negotiate planning agreements. Advise on planning applications, appeals, and enforcement issues. Liaise effectively with planning officers, developers, and external stakeholders. Requirements: Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with proven experience in planning law. Strong knowledge of Section 106 agreements and planning legislation. Previous experience working in a Local Authority setting is highly desirable. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
