An opportunity has arisen for a Planning Officer to join the Development Management team.





The post holder will be dealing with minor planning applications and the main responsibilities of the role include:


Processing planning (and related) applications, including preparation of case officer/committee reports. To prepare appeal questionnaires and planning appeal statements. To provide planning advice to the public, Members and developers etc via our pre-application advice service and the daily duty officer phone line. The successful candidate will work as part of a small but enthusiastic team and will be required to contribute positively to the delivery of planning services in the Borough.

What you'll need:



Candidates should have a Degree or equivalent in Town Planning or a related discipline, and have knowledge of the Planning System, in particular Development Management. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills both oral and written and be computer literate. The ability to travel throughout the county is also an essential requirement of the post.


This role offers flexible working options for a work life balance. This can include adjusting your working day and hybrid working, ie a balance of office and home working.
