Planning Team Leader

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pro-active and enthusiastic individual within the supply chain department. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the planning function within the supply chain department to ensure effective and efficient provision of planning and materials commensurate with the TDK brand, across all areas of the business.

This will involve close interdepartmental collaboration with key stakeholders from MED, Purchasing, Materials Management, Production, Test Engineering, Sales and Customer Service.

Main duties and responsibilities:



Responsible for the provision, ongoing management & delivery of production operations plan & Master Production Schedule within TDK Lambda UK. To support day to day planning activities (materials, resources, de-confliction) ensuring on time in full delivery (OTIF) and right first time (RFT).

Accountable for delivering the overall Operations Plan & Master Production Schedule to meet Sales orderbook requirements.

To support the Head of Supply Chain with the day-to-day requirements of the department including process, people, HSE, Quality and performance.

To represent and demonstrate the company values at all times, acting as an ambassador of our company and set and maintain standards of safety, quality, environmental, housekeeping and efficiency within your department.

Leadership of team members within the Planning Department.

Skills and qualifications:



Educated to A Level or equivalent

At least three years experience in Production/Manufacturing Operations Planning & Materials Management.

Significant experience in similar role working in a production / manufacturing environment

Make to Order and Make to Stock planning experience

Demonstratable experience of the application of lean / continuous improvement tools & techniques in low volume high value production/manufacturing environment

Manufacturing within an ISO quality management system or equivalent

Proven track record of driving delivery, performance and continuous improvement

Effective people management / leadership

Degree or equivalent in electronics or similar is desirable

Experience using Infor LN or other MRP system as well as 'pull' visual manufacturing systems would be beneficial but is not essential

A key aspect of this role will involve interacting with people on a daily basis via various communication methods, therefore, a confident telephone manner and excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills are essential

Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

This role has a starting salary of 28,978 per annum and the successful applicant will work a 37.30 hour week as below.

Hours of work: - Monday to Thursday 7.30 am - 4.30 pm - 45 minute lunchbreak

Friday 7.30am - 12.00pm.

Flexi-time is applicable.
