Job Description

This Role:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operation of the Maintenance Division, ensuring that all the Companies machinery, vehicles, and plant fleet remain operational. This will require the ability to work accurately, efficiently and with minimal instruction.

The Responsibilities of the role:

the main responsibilities of the role will include, but not necessarily be limited to: -

The ability to self-diagnose and/or consult with respective manufacturers to resolve issues and faults with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical circuits to any of the Companies vehicles, plant, or machinery inventory.

To specify, source, and procure the correct parts, at best prices, for repair of any respective machine, vehicle, and/or item of construction plant.

To remove and replace either damaged, broken, or worn-out parts to machines, vehicles, and/or items of plant to ensure that they return to full operational use at the earliest opportunity. All repair work must be undertaken in line with manufacturers guidelines, current legislations, and best practices.

To carry-out routine and preventative maintenance regimes/work as required.

To administer and record, with particular emphasis on the accurate recording of all appropriate data, relating to all work undertaken on an item-by-item basis.

To maintain suitable stock levels of all routine consumable items.

To prepare, as required, Company vehicle's (passenger, LGV, and HGV) ready for Ministry of Transport testing.

To attend any site(s) of the Company, as required, to diagnose and repair (where possible) any broken-down or defective item of construction plant/vehicle.

The company 'fleet' includes for the following vehicles, major plant, and machinery:

- In house CNC sawing, drilling, cropping, punching, and shot blasting machines.

- In house airless spray plant.

- In house MIG welding machines.

- Overhead gantry crane(s)

- On site Combilifts and Side loaders.

- Telehandlers.

- Genie and Manitou access platforms/scissor lifts.

- Liebherr Mobile Crane(s).

- HGV Tractor Unit(s).

- HGV Articulated Trailer(s) - including 'trombone' and 'rear-steer' units.

- LGV's and Panel Vans.

- Passenger vehicles and Pick-up Trucks.

To undertake, in line with current legislation, all PAT Testing of electrical equipment along with monthly emergency lighting testing.

To always be punctual giving due respect and regard to all other employees of the Company.

To comply always with the Company's policies and procedures.

To comply always with the Health and Safety documentation presented (including COSHH) and to undertake all daily tasks in strict compliance with Safe Working Procedures (SWPs') and Risk Assessments (RA's).

To undertake any other task(s) as reasonably requested by senior management.
