Job Description

This position will report directly to the plant centre supervisor, as part of the plant centre team you will help ensure the smooth running of this department, along with offering the best customer service to both our Contract and Retail customers. This is an outdoor position where you will work in all weathers.

Responsibilities

Engage with customers to advise on the best products for their needs. Caring for our plant stock. Stock replenishment, pricing, and merchandising. Assist with incoming customer calls and email enquiries. Dealing with inbound deliveries and handling Dutch style trolleys.

Essential Requirements

Have good plant & horticultural knowledge. Be a friendly, approachable person who is confident speaking with customers face-to-face and on the phone. Be IT literate (Use of email and basic Microsoft Office programs) Have a reasonable level of fitness as manual handling is involved in this role. Have good numeric and literacy skills. Be self-motivated and able to work well under pressure. Work well as part of a team. Ability to work in all environments, this is an outdoor role.

Role Preferred Preferences

Have experience in a similar position within a garden centre environment. Have, or are working towards, a formal horticultural qualification. Have experience of merchandising and supplier ordering. Have sales experience or sales training.
As our location is semi rural, own transport is essential.

34.5 hours per week (32.5 paid), over 4 days.
Monday 7.30-17.00
Thursday 7.30-17.00
Friday 7.30-17.00
Sunday 10.00 - 16.00
