Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Plant cleaner/technician to join our friendly team at Aylesbury Plant & Tool Hire in Aylesbury. In this role, you will play a vital part in assisting with the cleaning, maintenance and basic services of plant and machinery. The role involves ensuring all equipment is kept in top condition, ready for hire and presented to a high standard. Ideal for someone with good attention to detail, practical skills and an interest in plant and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and valet all plant, tools, and machinery upon return from hire, ensuring they are free from dirt, grease, and debris.
Carry out basic maintenance checks and routine servicing tasks as instructed (e.g., oil levels, filters, greasing, tyre pressures).
Report any faults, damage, or missing parts to the Workshop Manager or Engineer immediately.
Assist with the preparation and inspection of equipment prior to hire to ensure it meets safety and operational standards.
Support engineers and fitters in the workshop when required (e.g., assisting with repairs or moving plant).
Maintain the workshop and yard areas in a clean, tidy, and safe condition at all times.
Ensure correct and safe use of cleaning materials, tools, and equipment.
Load, unload, and store machinery and equipment safely following company procedures.
Adhere to all company health and safety policies, including the correct use of PPE.
Assist with stock control and general workshop duties as required.
Provide occasional support for deliveries or collections if trained and authorised to do so.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in plant hire, construction, or machinery cleaning preferred (training can be provided).
Basic mechanical knowledge or an interest in plant machinery desirable.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in quality workmanship.
Good attention to detail and a strong focus on safety.
Full UK driving licence preferred (especially if required to move equipment).
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, with every other Saturday morning 8-12.
