PLANT CONTROL DESK OPERATOR

REPORTING TO:

Acting Quarry Manager

PURPOSE

The Plant Control Desk Operator is directly responsible for the daily operation and running of the Fixed Processing Plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Perform daily equipment checks and record on the relevant documentation.

Responsible for reporting any defects or concerns to the Acting Quarry Manager without fail.

Keep daily reports / check sheets on time running and tonnage.

Ensuring the plant is operated with respect to safety, environmental and operational limits at all times, whilst maximising availability, reliability, efficiency and ensuring the plant is dispatching in line with agreements with customers

Ensure the release of plant/apparatus is made in line with agreed planning schedule and the sites safety rules.

Ensure adherence with and the development of all site operations procedures and management instructions.

Undertake routine plant inspections, operational routines, adjustments and testing alongside the collecting and recording of plant data.

Provide operational support for all planned outages as required, which may require periods of 'Day working'.

Adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures (including but not limited to) those specified in the Employment Handbook, H&S Policy, IMS System and any financial/accounting systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

ONC / C&G / NVQ level 3 in a process/engineering subject, with a high level of practical process plant operational experience

A good understanding of all HSE aspects is a fundamental requirement, with IOSH Managing safely a preferred requirement.

SKILLS

Able to follow precise instructions.

The ability to understand, follow and apply policies, practices and operating procedures.

Knowledge and experience of operating a fixed processing plant

Possess a trade background in either mechanical, electrical or C&I.

Experience of operating a 'soft desk'

EXPERIENCE

Experience of working in a Quarry environment.

Fixed plant operation and maintenance.

Full driving Licence.
