Job Overview

A role has become available for a part time Plant Fitter to assist in the running of a metal recycling facility in Hailsham, East Sussex. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining various components and systems in accordance with engineering specifications. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

Using and maintaining specialised machines and tools Assembling components so they are ready for installation Reading and interpreting project plans Co-ordinating with colleagues to ensure maintenance coverage of all sites Performing MIG, TIG and other types of welding across the business Finding and fixing faults in equipment across the business Conducting planned maintenance Responding to emergency call outs Ensuring the maintenance function is managed cost effectively

Qualification / Experience / Skills:

Essential:

Mechanical/Electrical Knowledge and qualifications Experience of hydraulic systems Computer Literate Ability to troubleshoot machinery Ability to communicate effectively & efficiently Minimum of 3 years' experience in a technical field involving machinery General good physical fitness for most tasks

Desirable:

Willing to engage and learn new skills Able to suggest improvements and adaptations A good understanding of Health and Safety and First Aid on site
