We are currently seeking an experienced and talented
Plant Fitter
to join our high performing team.

Based in our Head Office in Newry, Co Down
CONTRACT TYPE:
Full-Time, Permanent
HOURS:
Monday - Friday, with occasional weekend additional hours available.
Role Responsibilities
Complete service and maintenance for mechanical and non-mechanical plant and specialist equipment, following manufacture guidelines and company processes.
Ensure statutory compliance relating to heavy plant equipment.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks and other precision-based maintenance.
Identify and capture machine damage, investigating and documenting, as appropriate.
Inspect new plant and equipment and sign off before use on site.
Ensure company fleet vehicles are always roadworthy and prepare for testing to MOT and NCT standards.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance records via logbooks and databases as required.
Work closely with the Plant Manager and Office & Logistics Manager to ensure they are aware of problems as they occur, working to solve problems quickly.
Work closely with and take direction from the Operator team, and support in ordering repair and/or spare parts, maintenance parts, assemblies, and consumables.
Maintain an inventory of plant tools, manuals, repair parts, assemblies and consumables for use in the workshop, ensuring all items are labelled correctly and stored safely.
Request purchase orders to be raised for parts for stock.
Act as a mentor to any junior employees or apprentices who are attached to the Plant Team, sharing knowledge and best practice.
Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping, ensure areas are free from waste and trip hazards.
Comply with applicable Safety, Environment, Health, and Waste Management policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
The Candidate
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience as a Plant Fitter or similar mechanical repair/maintenance role.
Knowledge of construction plant and equipment including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic.
Experience in investigating and diagnosing technical faults.
Possess a clean driving licence.
Skills & Attributes
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent mechanical repair skills.
Extensive knowledge of all aspect of vehicle repair.
Additional information
Must have the ability to travel to place of work in Carnbane Industrial Estate in Newry.
Role is an in-person, on-site role.
May involve travel to our other sites across the Republic of Ireland
