We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly, with experience working on construction sites or in industrial environments. This role involves working with various hand and power tools, and ensuring precise fitting of components according to specifications. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring technical expertise and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
Service, maintain, and repair a range of plant machinery.
Respond to on-site breakdowns as required.
Work both independently and within a small, supportive team.
Use your technical knowledge to diagnose faults efficiently.
Provide a reliable and professional service when attending customer sites.
Ensure machinery is maintained to a high standard to support business operations.
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (MIG), plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools to assemble Bitumen Boilers. .
Follow safety protocols during all phases of work on-site or in the workshop.
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
What you'll need for your new Plant Fitter role
NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Plant or Time Served
Full UK Driving Licence
Proven experience working on road construction equipment or in manufacturing environments involving fabrication and assembly.
Skilled in MIG welding
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
Proficient with hand tools and power tools
Experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery is a plus.
Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
Strong safety awareness with the ability to work effectively in construction or industrial settings. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with technical skills in fabrication and assembly to contribute to diverse projects within a dynamic environment.
