Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and assembling a variety of equipment and machinery across different operational areas. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise a broad range of technical skills, including fabrication, electrical work, and mechanical maintenance, in a dynamic environment. The Technician will play a vital part in ensuring operational efficiency and safety standards are upheld at all times.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime. Perform fabrication tasks, including welding and soldering, adhering to technical schematics and safety protocols. Repair and troubleshoot electrical systems, mechanical components, and specialised equipment such as excavators and forklifts. Assemble new equipment or parts using hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques. Read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and manuals to diagnose issues accurately. Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely when handling materials or equipment components. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used. Assist with the installation of new machinery or upgrades to existing systems. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all operational activities.

Skills

Proven experience in fabrication, welding, soldering, electrical work, & mechanical maintenance. Strong knowledge of schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators or forklifts. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong customer service orientation when liaising with internal teams or external clients. Mechanical knowledge combined with practical experience in equipment repair and assembly is highly desirable. A can-do attitude is a must, Over night stays are required occasionally when attending further afield customer sites. (Accommodation, breakfast & evening meal paid for)
