Job Role: In house Service Engineer

Overview:

As a Service Engineer, you will support the service team in maintaining and repairing a variety of hire equipment, learning hands-on skills in plant and tool maintenance. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone with a mechanical interest or early engineering experience who wants to develop into a fully qualified service engineer. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills progress.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist senior engineers with servicing, repairing, and maintaining plant, tools, and hire equipment. Carry out basic inspections, cleaning, and safety checks on returned equipment. Learn to diagnose and fix minor faults under supervision. Support with pre-delivery checks to ensure equipment is ready for hire. Keep service areas, tools, and equipment clean, organised, and safe. Maintain accurate records of work carried out. Provide polite and helpful customer service when required. Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Skills & Experience:

Some mechanical or electrical knowledge (through study, work experience, or personal interest). Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Good attention to detail and problem-solving approach. Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for hands-on work. Driving licence beneficial, but not essential at entry level.
