Job Description

The Materials Division of Northstone (NI) Limited is one of the leading quarry, civil engineering and road contractors operating in Northern Ireland and Border Counties. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Plant Operator to join our team at Carmean Limeworks.


Our Carmean site is a key part of our operations, producing lime and related materials for a range of industrial and agricultural uses.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation of milling and associated plant equipment. They will play a vital role in ensuring product quality, maintaining equipment and support the overall operations of the site.

About The Role




Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor the milling plant and associated processing equipment in line with Northstone procedures and production targets; Operate and maintain an articulated dump truck, moving material around the site; Carry out routine safety checks, adjustments and inspections to maintain efficient operation and ensure consistent product quality; Record production data accurately, reporting any breakdowns or quality issues to supervisory staff; Undertake basic maintenance, cleaning and housekeeping to ensure a safe and clean working environment; Assist with material handling, loading and unloading as required; Follow all health, safety and environmental policies and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement; Support other production or site activities as and when required.

Requirements

Previous experience operating industrial or plant machinery (ideally within a quarrying, cement or related environment) Basic maintenance skills; Strong commitment to health and safety standards; Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively; Flexibility to work shifts and respond to operational needs.
