Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Plant Supervisor for our Glasgow Dry Silo Mortar Site.
On a day-to-day basis, the successful Plant Supervisor's responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
Accountable for the safety, leadership, and financial performance of the operation in Glasgow DSM
Lead in all aspects of Safety to ensure the safe operation of the site is in line with Tarmac standards.
Drive the mortar operations strategy working alongside the plant Manager in ensuring delivery of safe, profitable, and efficient plant operations.
Assist with the implementation of an operations plan that meets the needs of the commercial strategy and is customer focussed.
Assist with delivery of operations performance to meet or exceed targets for cost of production, quality, OTIF, waste, OEE, energy usage and working capital and report on performance to the mortar operations manager.
Direct and support Continuous Improvement projects & Preventative Maintenance Programmes and participate in the identification of opportunities to improve performance in terms of utilisation, costs, safety, and quality.
Direct and support teams in delivering exceptional quality performance with a focus on complaints, cost of deliveries, and new product development.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate extensive previous Supervisor skills, the experience of managing a function or team in a results-orientated environment.
As well as possess excellent knowledge of the Manufacturing Process and/or Production operations in similar heavy industrial/chemical environment with a good awareness of safety, quality and environmental issues and legislation.
