Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and attentive Banksman to join our team. The Banksman will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and vehicles on site. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships with team members, and a proactive approach to safety.

Responsibilities

Direct and control the movement of vehicles and equipment on site, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Communicate clearly with drivers and operators using hand signals and radios to facilitate safe operations. Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures as necessary. Assist in the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring proper handling techniques are employed. Maintain a clear line of sight with equipment operators to ensure safe manoeuvring in confined spaces. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that may arise during work activities.

Qualifications

Valid NPORS Plant & Vehicle Marshal CSCS Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate with team members and report any incidents or concerns. Previous experience as a Banksman or in a similar role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate. Strong ability to build rapport with colleagues and external partners, fostering a collaborative work environment. Capability to drive vehicles safely on site as required, adhering to all traffic regulations and site-specific rules. A keen eye for detail with a commitment to maintaining high safety standards at all times.
Contract to start ASAP for minimum 2 months duration.
