Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled construction/agricultural Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in equipment repair and maintenance. This role involves working with a very wide range of plant and machinery. The Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and maintaining equipment to prevent downtime.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals. Perform fabrication, welding, and soldering tasks as required. Utilise hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators and forklifts safely and effectively. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients regarding equipment functionality. Assist in heavy lifting tasks as needed to support operational requirements.

Skills

Proficient in fabrication techniques, including welding and soldering. Strong understanding of electrical systems and their integration with mechanical components. Extensive mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes. Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and industrial machinery. Experience operating excavators and forklifts is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety practices in a workshop environment. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
