We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Plant/Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our food production acilities, overseeing maintenance activities, and implementing engineering solutions to enhance productivity. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain plant systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Skills related to Mechanical, Electrical and Control Automation Engineering including AutoCAD/SolidWORKS, piping design, Electrical Motors operations and maintenance and Automation Programming with PLC/SCADA are essential
Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools - machine learning, programming using Python, C++ would be extremely useful.
Conduct regular inspections and assessments of machinery and infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during production processes.
Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for improvement and implement engineering solutions.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and compliance with safety regulations.
Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices within the plant.
Provide training and support to staff on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
Project Management Skills would be a big advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's/Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation) is preferred.
Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment as a Plant Engineer or similar role.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and automation technologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations within an industrial setting.
Proficient in using engineering software tools for design and analysis.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement initiatives.
