Summary



We are seeking a skilled Plasterer/Renderer to join our growing team. This role is essential for ensuring that our renovation projects meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetics. You will play a key part in transforming homes and contributing to our mission of excellence in construction.

General Duties



Prepare and clean work surfaces by removing old plaster, paint, or render. Protect surrounding areas with sheeting or masking materials before starting work. Measure, cut, and fix beading and lath where necessary. Mix plaster, cement, or rendering materials to the correct consistency.

Plastering Duties



Apply undercoat and finishing plaster to internal walls, ceilings, and partitions. Use traditional hand tools (trowels, floats, hawks) and/or machine application (e.g. spray plaster). Skim surfaces to create a smooth or decorative finish. Patch repairs to existing plasterwork, including matching textures and finishes. Install and repair decorative plaster mouldings (cornices, ceiling roses, etc.). Ensure drying times are met between coats or layers.

Rendering Duties



Apply external render (sand/cement, lime, silicone, or monocouche) to walls and facades. Build up coats to achieve the correct depth and finish. Float and sponge-finish renders as required for texture and aesthetic. Use mesh reinforcement or bonding agents as necessary. Apply coloured or textured finishes, including scratch coat finishes and smooth topcoats.

Health & Safety and Compliance



Work in accordance with site safety regulations and PPE requirements. Ensure work areas are kept clean and safe during and after tasks. Use scaffolding, ladders, and mechanical access equipment safely and correctly. Dispose of waste materials appropriately and maintain a tidy workspace.

Quality & Coordination



Liaise with site managers, other trades, and clients to coordinate work sequencing. Follow technical drawings or specifications accurately. Inspect surfaces and finishes for quality assurance and rectify any defects. Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Record materials used and progress for site records if required.

Specialist Tasks



Venetian/Polished plastering (if trained). Dry lining and taping & jointing. Damp proofing treatments involving render. Heritage plasterwork using lime-based products.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Plasterer/Renderer. Strong knowledge of plastering techniques and materials. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients. Valid driver's license is essential. Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality work.
