Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled Plater to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, fabricating, and assembling metal components to create high-quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The successful applicant will demonstrate precision and attention to detail in all aspects of their work.

Duties



Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and polishing as necessary. Fabricate components using hand tools and power tools, ensuring adherence to specifications. Assemble parts and structures according to engineering drawings and specifications. Perform MIG & TIG (TIG preferred but not essential) welding to join metal pieces, ensuring strong and durable connections. Use basic maths skills to measure and cut materials accurately. Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following health and safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiency.

Qualifications



Proven experience in welding, particularly MIG welding, is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for fabrication tasks. Proficient in using metalwork machinery including ironworkers, guillotines, brake press, pedestal drills and band saws. Experience working with sheet metal is an advantage. Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
