Position: Plater / Welders - UK NATIONALS able to obtain SC

Location: Birkenhead, Wirral

Package: 20.00 per hour + Overtime 30.00 - 40.00

Hours: 38 hours per week (7.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Thursday / 7.30am - 12.30pm Friday)

Contract: Long Term Contracting - PAYE

4Sure Recruitment is proud to be partnered with a heavy engineering client based in Birkenhead. We are currently looking to expand the engineering division with additional UK NATIONAL Plater / Fabricators to work on a highly skilled Ministry of Defence (MOD) project.

Role & Responsibilities -: Plater / Fabricators

Working with thermal processes for cutting and welding Working from technical engineering drawings and documentation Working across site production in preparation for assembly of all components, and modules up to construction stage at which point the welding team will take over. Understanding the selection process of various materials and considering traceability for material type and thickness. Able to use the most appropriate cutting methods safely, thermal cutting (oxy-acetylene, plasma), cold cutting methods (guillotine, steel worker, cropper, angle grinder, nibbler). Ability to produce templates and JIGs for batch production or difficult and repetitive shapes. Ability to tack/ block weld, using MMA, FCAW (qualification as required)

Candidates Attributes / Qualifications -: Plater / Fabricators

Proven track record in the Marine / Steel fabrication / Off-shore / Petro-chemical or Construction industries - Essential Highly skilled plater/ fabricator with experience of; FCAW, MMA, MIG/ MAG welding processes - Essential Experience in thermal cutting processes (oxy-acetylene, plasma) - Essential. Experience in cold cutting techniques, grinding and nibbling machines - Essential. Experience using handheld angle grinders and pencil grinders - Essential. Experience of working at heights and confined spaces - Essential Qualified welding / plater within qualified to 9606-R1, butts & fillets 316 process - certificates valid / expired will be required for proof of. - Essential
